2024 POLAR PLUNGE FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS OHIO

CANCELLED - See 2024 Indian Lake Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Ohio website

If you're looking for a fun way to do some good this Lent and also sneak in some Lenten suffering (because jumping in a freezing cold lake is both fun and torturous, right?), consider joining the Mary Queen of Angels team for the 2024 Polar Plunge and help raise money for Special Olympics! The Plunge will take place at the Indian Lake Moose Lodge on March 16th. Contact Mary Giannola at 937-935-7957 or email Lee McCarty at leemccarty333@gmail.com, if you have any questions.

Our parish family's goal is to raise $500 for Special Olympics. If you don't want to jump in the lake, you can still participate by donating at our team page: https://give.sooh.org/team/561204

WOMEN'S MORNING OF REFLECTION

FEMININE ASCETICISM - Receptivity, Identity, and Union by Emma Greve
Saturday, March 9th at 9 - 11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Urbana in the undercroft.

Emma is the older sister of Fr. Jacob Lindle. Most likely, everything else is secondary to the people of Urbana and the surrounding counties. For Emma, the most important aspects of herself are being loved by God the Father and being the wife of Jake Greve and mother to Miriam (who will be two in May). She graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville with an undergraduate degree in catechetics and theology and has a masters degree in theology. She was a high school theology teacher for three years before having her first child. She is now a full time homemaker, but enjoys opportunities to teach theology at a homeschool co-op and to give talks for schools and retreats.

For more information, please contact the St. Mary Church Urbana office 937.653.1375 or stmarychurchoffice@gmail.com
Hosted & presented by St. Mary Ladies' Sodality
Presentation is free, but we will be accepting donations for Sycamore House Pregnancy & Family Life Center.
Please consider inviting a friend.

RORATE MASS

Saturday, 12/16 Rosary at 6:00 AM, Mass at 6:30 AM, St. Patrick Church. Carry-in breakfast in Makley Hall following this Mass.

Rorate Caeli is Latin for "Drop down, ye heavens" and are the opening words of the Introit (which is an opening Psalm or antiphon), coming from Isaiah 45:8. "Rorate, caeli, desuper, et nubes pluant justum, aperiatur terra, et germinet Salvatorem." "Drop down dew, ye heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain the just: let the earth be opened and bud forth a Savior." - Isaiah 45:8 A Rorate Caeli Mass is traditionally celebrated just before dawn in Advent as a devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Mass is only lit by candles, representing Mary's role in bringing the Light of the World into the darkness of the world.
